Cattleya Alliance Rlc. Liou Hope

Rlc. Liou Hope is a hybrid within the Cattleya alliance, known for its large, showy flowers often presented in warm tones such as yellow, gold, or apricot, typically with a contrasting lip in shades of red, pink, or magenta. The petals are broad and overlapping, often with a slightly ruffled edge, while the prominent lip adds depth and texture to the flower. Blooms arise from upright inflorescences produced at the apex of mature pseudobulbs.

Care Tips:

• Light: Requires bright, filtered light. Some gentle morning or late afternoon sun is beneficial.
• Water: Water thoroughly when the media is nearly dry. Avoid constant wetness around the roots.
• Humidity: Best grown with 50–70% humidity and good ventilation to prevent fungal issues.
• Media: Medium orchid bark or a Cattleya-specific mix with excellent drainage properties.
• Temperature: Performs well in intermediate to warm conditions, ideally 15–28 °C.
• Fertiliser: Feed every 2–3 weeks during active growth with a diluted orchid fertiliser. Flush monthly to prevent salt build-up.
• Repotting: Repot every 2 years or when the medium starts to break down, ideally when new root growth begins.
