Cereus forbesii cristata (WA Prohibited)

The cristate form (Cereus forbesii f. cristata, syn. Cereus comarapanus) develops spectacular fan-shaped, twisting crests that form an architectural specimen over time. Its blue-green stems and compact growth make it an outstanding feature plant for collectors.

Care

• Light: Full sun to very bright light to maintain colour and compact growth.
• Water: Water deeply in summer when dry; reduce watering in winter.
• Temperature: Warm-growing, protect from frost.
• Media: Plant in a free-draining cactus mix.
• Fertiliser: Apply a low-nitrogen cactus fertiliser during the growing season to encourage healthy growth.
