Neoregelia 'Chrissy'

Neoregelia 'Chrissy' is a spectacular cultivar which develops foliage marked with bright variegation and red spotting, often showing green margins with lighter central bands that shift in intensity depending on light levels. The central area takes on deeper tones as the plant approaches flowering, while the small blossoms remain nestled inside the cup. Offsets are freely produced around the base, gradually forming clusters that can be divided or left to grow into a colony. This cultivar traces back to Neoregelia breeding lines from Brazil, where related species thrive in warm, humid forests with ample rainfall and filtered light.

Care Tips

• Light: Grow in bright, filtered light to enhance variegation; avoid prolonged harsh sun.
• Water: Keep fresh water in the cup and refresh regularly; allow the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings.
• Media: Plant in a coarse, free-draining bromeliad or orchid mix.
• Fertiliser: Use a dilute fertiliser during growth, applied lightly to leaves or into the cup, then rinse monthly.
• Temperature: Best between 15-28 °C, with protection from extended cold periods.
