Lycaste ciliata

Lycaste ciliata is a deciduous species orchid from Central and South America, admired for its elegant, waxy flowers and graceful growth habit. The blooms are typically shades of green, cream, or yellow-green and are often produced from leafless pseudobulbs during the dormant season.

The plants offered are well-established specimens. Some leaves may display cosmetic spotting, which is common on older Lycaste foliage and does not affect the health, vigour, or flowering potential of the plant.

Care

• Light: Bright filtered light. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
• Water: Keep evenly moist during active growth. Reduce watering significantly once leaves begin to yellow and drop.
• Temperature: Intermediate growing; ideally 12–28°C.
• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity with good air movement.
• Media: Fine to medium orchid bark mix with excellent drainage.
• Feeding: Regular feeding during active growth. Reduce or stop feeding during dormancy.
